The title of this post is the truth that a mystic knows directly, and then she/he tries to help other Seekers understand it too.

The problem is that we all identify with our body, and even more so with our mind. While you can accept that “you” are not your left leg, it is only the mystic that knows directly that “you” are also not your mind.

The value of a teacher/guru is in helping you understand this truth and its ramifications.

Those spiritual seekers who desire direct knowledge of the TRUE-SELF hope to have that union as soon as possible. If it is not realized in this particular lifetime then we hope it will be in the next. That being the case a detour to heaven is not a happy prospect. Sure heaven promises to be pleasant and perhaps even pleasurable, but so what. All that would be is simply a continuation of the experience of the NOT-SELF. To us that is a waste of time.

We want to know the TRUE-SELF and that can only happen here in our human state in the world of seeming duality. So frankly, missing a chance at heaven would be good if it meant a short turn around time between human life times.

But please think twice before you tell someone that you don’t wish to go to heaven.

Some of you might ask yourself why others are so far down on the scale of spiritual seekers. You notice correctly that some people are just having a good time and can’t be bothered about anything to do with religion or spirituality.

This state of affairs is not that troubling if you believe in reincarnation and karma.

We do know that each person will eventually, perhaps over several lifetimes, feel limited by their current attempts to become whole and then move to a higher level. This is good.

And what is good for you is not to judge or evaluate.

Remember that where they are now, you were but an instant ago, and where you are now they will be in but an instant of spiritual time.
